: The Hill
A young girl named Rose is brought to the Howlett estate by Mr. Kenneth. She is to be young James' companion. On arrival, she meets Dog and Mrs. Hopkins the maid, warns her of the boy and his father, Thomas. Rose meets Master John and his father. She spends most of her time writing in her diary and watching James and Dog play. Rose, James, and Dog all be come great friends, and Dog even saves Logan from drowning. When the adults find out, John senior tells Thomas that he should punish his son. At home, Thomas gets drunk and beats his boy. Rose and James are in the maze when Dog shows up only to run away. On Christmas, John and his father fight, Rose is sad, James gets a puppy, and John gives Dog and toy train, which makes old man John really mad. Dog returns home only to get beat again.

The series ran for a total of four seasons from November 2000 until October 2003 on Kids' WB, which has made it the third longest-running Marvel Comics animated series, behind only Fox Kids' X-Men and Spider-Man animated series.
